Green Shield Certification is now available to qualifying structural pest management service providers anywhere in the continental United States. Our certification process is convenient, efficient and private. Companies may certify an entire business or certify a service you offer to discerning customers. Certification will be available for landscape service professionals in the future.
Our tested certification standards:
- Use advanced Integrated Pest Management practices, applying effective non-chemical strategies first and pesticides only when necessary.
- Use approved methods of application when pesticides are needed, such as baits and traps.
- Limit pesticide use to those that have been screened and approved by Green Shield Certified.
Green Shield Certified authenticates you as a real IPM service provider.
With growing interest in IPM, most pest management professionals already practice IPM to varying degrees. Our certification is designed to help you stand out as a verified practitioner of advanced IPM methods, a professional with the knowledge and expertise to solve customers' pest problems.

We list certified pest control professionals on our website and promote the certification throughout our extensive network of local, state and federal public agencies, businesses and non-governmental organizations with an interest in IPM and the environment. In addition, certified professionals are invited to use our Green Shield Certified logo and other approved marketing materials as specified by our standards.
Our certification process is confidential, convenient, efficient and affordable.
Certification requires completion of an on-site evaluation by a Green Shield Certified evaluator. We can schedule the evaluation at your business location at a time that works for you. Your evaluation is completely confidential. Applicants may take as much time as they need to address any outstanding issues identified during the evaluation. Certification fees are set on a sliding scale according to the sales volume of the business or certified service and start at $500 per year.
